Every UK solar panel grant and funding scheme (Q1 2026): ENGLAND: (1) 0% VAT — saves £1,000-£1,600 on installation. Automatic for all residential solar. Ends March 2027 (source: HMRC VAT Notice 708/6, gov.uk). (2) ECO4 — free solar for low-income households in EPC D-G homes. Applied through your energy supplier. Covers full installation cost for eligible households (source: Ofgem ECO4, ofgem.gov.uk). (3) Home Upgrade Grant (HUG2) — for off-gas-grid homes in low-income areas. Up to £10,000 for energy efficiency measures including solar. Applied through local authorities (source: DESNZ, gov.uk). (4) Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) — £7,500 grant for heat pump installation. Not for solar directly, but pairs perfectly with solar. Applied through MCS installers (source: Ofgem BUS, ofgem.gov.uk). SCOTLAND: (5) Home Energy Scotland (HES) — interest-free loans up to £6,000 for solar. Cashback grants of up to £1,250 for some households. Applied at homeenergyscotland.org. WALES: (6) Nest Scheme — free energy efficiency measures including solar for low-income households. Applied at nest.gov.wales. NORTHERN IRELAND: (7) NIHEE grants — energy efficiency grants for NI households. Applied through Northern Ireland Housing Executive. LOCAL AUTHORITY: (8) Various councils offer solar grants — check your local authority website.
