Does solar void my new build warranty?

Solar panels and new build warranties: (1) NHBC WARRANTY: MCS-certified solar installation does NOT void your NHBC Buildmark warranty. The key requirement: inform your builder/developer before installation. (2) DEVELOPER-INSTALLED SOLAR: if your new build comes with solar, it's covered under the NHBC warranty as part of the build. Check the handover documents for panel, inverter, and installation warranties. (3) RETROFIT SOLAR: adding solar after purchase — use MCS-certified installers. The solar installation is covered by the installer's own warranty (5-10 years workmanship). Your NHBC structural warranty continues for the building itself. (4) IMPORTANT: if non-MCS installation causes roof damage, the NHBC may refuse to cover that specific damage. Always use MCS.
