Can neighbours complain about solar panel noise?

Solar panels produce ZERO noise — no moving parts, no vibration, no sound. The inverter produces a low hum: 25-45dB (similar to a refrigerator or quieter). This is inaudible beyond your property boundary. No neighbour has ever successfully used noise legislation (Environmental Protection Act 1990) against a solar installation. For comparison: normal conversation is 60dB, a fridge is 40dB, a library is 30dB. Your solar inverter is typically installed inside (garage, loft, utility room) where even YOU can barely hear it. Batteries with cooling fans: 30-40dB — again, inaudible beyond your property.
