Do solar panels affect WiFi?

Solar panels do NOT interfere with WiFi, TV, or radio signals. The panels themselves are passive (no electronics on the roof with string inverters). Inverters can occasionally produce minor electromagnetic interference (EMI) that affects DAB radio or older WiFi routers — but this is rare and easily fixed. Solutions: (1) Ferrite cores on inverter DC cables (£5, clip-on). (2) Move router away from inverter (2+ metres). (3) Use shielded DC cables. (4) Micro-inverters produce less EMI than string inverters. Modern inverters are CE-marked and comply with EMC regulations — interference issues affect fewer than 1 in 100 installations.

Solar panels are most powerful when combined with an efficient heating system. Heat pumps use solar-generated electricity to heat your home at 300-400% efficiency — making them the ideal partner for solar.
