Do solar panels affect radon?

Solar panels have absolutely NO effect on radon gas levels in your home. Radon is a natural radioactive gas that seeps up from the GROUND through foundations and floors — it has nothing to do with your roof or solar panels. Solar panels sit ON TOP of your roof and do not create any sealed spaces that could trap radon. They do not affect ventilation, airflow, or ground-level gas movement. If you live in a radon-affected area (parts of Devon, Cornwall, Somerset, Derbyshire, Northamptonshire): address radon with proper sub-floor ventilation — completely separate from solar installation.
