No — TV signals come from transmitters at ground level or above, not from directly overhead. Panels on the roof surface do not block the path between your aerial and the transmitter.

Can panels be installed under the aerial?

Yes — the aerial mast stands above panel level. Panels fit around the mast base. In most cases, zero aerial work is needed.

What if my aerial is where panels need to go?

Your installer can move the aerial to the ridge or edge of the roof, or to a wall bracket. Cost: £50-£100 including realignment. Some solar installers include this in their quote.

Should I switch to streaming and remove the aerial?

If you already stream everything: removing the aerial frees up roof space for 1-2 extra panels. But most people keep the aerial as a backup — and it doesn't interfere.

Do I need to move my TV aerial for solar panels?
